The verse highlights how attachment and partiality shape perception: Dhṛtarāṣṭra frames the coming conflict as “my son’s army” versus those who support the Pāṇḍavas, revealing a moral blindness that precedes war—an ethical warning about letting familial loyalty override dharma and justice.
On the eve of war preparations, Dhṛtarāṣṭra questions Sañjaya about which rulers have assembled to support Yudhiṣṭhira and are prepared to fight for the Pāṇḍavas against the Kaurava forces.
