This closing colophon signals the completion of the Śikhaṇḍī episode, highlighting the Mahābhārata’s ethical logic: unresolved wrongs and vows (especially those tied to honor and justice) mature over time into consequences that shape history, including the conditions that lead to war.
The text is not a spoken verse but a chapter-ending colophon. It states that, within Udyoga Parva’s Amba-related sub-narrative, the chapter dealing with Śikhaṇḍī’s attainment of manhood has concluded.
