Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
ततो मामब्रवीद् राम: क्रोधसंरक्तलोचन: । जानीषे मां गुरुं भीष्म गृह्नलासीमां न चैव ह,तब परशुरामजीने क्रोधसे लाल आँखें करके मुझसे कहा--“महामते भीष्म! तुम मुझे अपना गुरु तो समझते हो; परंतु मेरा प्रिय करनेके लिये काशिराजकी इस कन्याको ग्रहण नहीं करते हो; किंतु कुरुनन्दन! ऐसा किये बिना तुम्हें शान्ति नहीं मिल सकती
tato mām abravīd rāmaḥ krodha-saṃrakta-locanaḥ | jānīṣe māṃ guruṃ bhīṣma gṛhṇalāsīmāṃ na caiva ha ||
Kemudian Rāma (Paraśurāma), dengan mata memerah karena murka, berkata kepadaku: “Bhīṣma, engkau mengakui aku sebagai gurumu, namun demi menyenangkan hatiku engkau tidak menerima putri raja Kāśī ini.”
