सान्त्वनं रक्षणं दानमवस्था चाप्यभीक्षणश: । गोमिनां पार्थ कर्तव्य: संविभाग: प्रियाणि च,कुन्तीनन्दन! वैश्योंको सान्त्वना दे, उनकी रक्षा करे, उन्हें धनकी सहायता दे, उनकी स्थितिको सुदृढ़ रखनेका बारंबार प्रयत्न करे, उन्हें आवश्यक वस्तुएँ अर्पित करे और सदा उनके प्रिय कार्य करता रहे
sāntvanaṁ rakṣaṇaṁ dānam avasthā cāpy abhīkṣṇaśaḥ | gomināṁ pārtha kartavyaḥ saṁvibhāgaḥ priyāṇi ca ||
Wahai Pārtha, terhadap mereka yang memiliki ternak (kaum Vaiśya) hendaknya berulang kali diberikan penghiburan, perlindungan, dan bantuan harta; terus diupayakan agar keadaan mereka tetap teguh; kebutuhan dibagikan bersama mereka; dan senantiasa dilakukan hal-hal yang menyenangkan hati mereka.
