Bhīṣma on the Śara-Śayyā: Yudhiṣṭhira and Kṛṣṇa Approach the Eldest for Śānti
अभिवाद्य तु गोविन्द: सात्यकिस्ते च पार्थिवा: । व्यासादीनृषिमुख्यांश्व गाज़्ेयमुपतस्थिरे,श्रीकृष्ण, सात्यकि तथा अन्य राजाओंने व्यास आदि महर्षियोंको प्रणाम करके गड़ानन्दन भीष्मको मस्तक झुकाया
abhivādya tu govindaḥ sātyakis te ca pārthivāḥ | vyāsādīn ṛṣimukhyāṁś ca gāṅgeyam upatasthire ||
Govinda (Kṛṣṇa), Sātyaki, dan para raja itu terlebih dahulu memberi hormat kepada Vyāsa serta para resi utama; sesudah itu mereka mendekati Bhīṣma, putra Gaṅgā, dan berdiri melayaninya dengan penuh takzim.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic conduct after conflict: rulers and heroes must show humility, honor sages and elders, and seek ethical guidance rather than act from pride or triumph.
Kṛṣṇa, Sātyaki, and other kings first pay respects to Vyāsa and the leading sages, then approach Bhīṣma (Gāṅgeya) and stand by him in attendance, preparing to receive counsel in the Śānti Parva setting.
