Educational Q&A

The verse highlights ethical leadership and humility: even a powerful figure frames action through goodwill (anugraha) and proceeds by honoring the most authoritative elder (Bhīṣma), placing the respected guide foremost.

Vāsudeva addresses Mādhava and proposes that they approach Bhīṣma together, with Mādhava going in front as the honored leader, signaling respect and a desire to receive or confirm guidance from Bhīṣma.
