Nāga–Nāgabhāryā Saṃvāda: Varṇa-Dharma, Gṛhastha-Discipline, and Mokṣa-Self-Inquiry

Mahābhārata 12.347

प्रोक्ष्यापसव्यं देवेश: प्राडुमुख: कृतवान्‌ स्वयम्‌ । मर्यादास्थापनार्थ च ततो वचनमुक्तवान्‌,अपने ही विधानसे प्रभुने वे तीनों पिण्ड संकल्पित किये। फिर अपने शरीरकी ही गर्मीसे उत्पन्न हुए स्नेहयुक्त तिलों द्वारा अपसव्यभावसे उन पिण्डोंका प्रोक्षण किया। तदनन्तर देवेश्वर श्रीहरिने स्वयं ही पूर्वाभिमुख हो प्रार्थना की और धर्म-मर्यादाकी स्थापनाके लिये यह बात कही

prokṣyāpasavyaṁ deveśaḥ prāṅmukhaḥ kṛtavān svayam | maryādāsthāpanārthaṁ ca tato vacanam uktavān ||

Setelah memercikkan (air suci) dengan cara apasavya, Sang Penguasa para dewa sendiri menghadap ke timur. Demi menegakkan batas-batas dharma, kemudian Ia mengucapkan kata-kata berikut.
