गरुत्मानथ विक्षिप्य पक्षौ मारुतवेगवान् | विवेश विवरं भूमेर्यत्रास्ते पार्थिवो वसु:,यह आज्ञा पाकर वायुके समान वेगशाली गरुड अपने दोनों पंख फैलाकर उड़े और पातालमें जहाँ राजा वसु विराजमान थे, घुस गये
garutmān atha vikṣipya pakṣau mārutavegavān | viveśa vivaraṃ bhūmer yatrāste pārthivo vasuḥ ||
Bhishma berkata: “Maka Garuḍa, secepat angin, membentangkan sayapnya dan terbang. Setelah menerima titah, ia memasuki celah bumi itu, menuju alam bawah tempat Raja Vasu bersemayam.”
