इतीदं हृदयग्रन्थिं बुद्धिचिन्तामयं दृढम् । विमुच्य सुखमासीत विशोकश्छिन्नसंशय:,इस प्रकार बुद्धिकी चिन्तास्वरूप इस सुदृढ़ हृदयग्रन्थिको त्यागककर शोक और संशयसे रहित हो सुखपूर्वक रहना चाहिये
itīdaṃ hṛdayagranthiṃ buddhicintāmayaṃ dṛḍham | vimucya sukham āsīta viśokaś chinnasaṃśayaḥ ||
Demikianlah, setelah melepaskan simpul hati yang keras—terbentuk dari kegelisahan pertimbangan buddhi—hendaknya seseorang berdiam dalam ketenteraman: tanpa duka dan dengan keraguan yang terputus.
भीष्म उवाच
Release the deeply rooted ‘knot of the heart’ created by anxious intellectual rumination; by letting it go, one becomes free from grief and doubt and can live in steady peace.
In the Shanti Parva’s instruction section, Bhishma continues advising on inner discipline and wisdom: he urges the listener to abandon mental entanglements that bind the heart, so that sorrow ends and certainty is attained.
