Śānti-parva 206: Guṇa-hetu Moha, Kāma-krodha Chain, Indriya-utpatti, and Nirodha

इसलिये ज्ञानके द्वारा बुद्धिको, बुद्धिके द्वारा मनको तथा मनके द्वारा इन्द्रिय- समुदायको निर्मल एवं शुद्ध करके अविनाशी परमात्माको प्राप्त किया जा सकता है ।।

buddhipravīṇo manasā samṛddho nirāśiṣaṁ nirguṇam abhyupaiti | paraṁ tyajantīha viloḍyamānā hutāśanaṁ vāyur ivendhanastham ||

Karena itu, dengan pengetahuan sejati budi dimurnikan, dengan budi yang jernih batin diteguhkan, dan dengan batin yang terlatih seluruh indria disucikan; demikian seseorang layak mencapai Sang Diri Tertinggi yang tak-binasā. Ia yang mahir dalam pembedaan dan kaya oleh batin yang tertata mendekati Kenyataan tanpa sifat, tanpa hasrat. Seperti angin mengaduk dan meniup hingga api yang tersembunyi dalam kayu menyala, demikian pula disiplin batin, dengan meninggalkan keterikatan rendah di sini juga, menyingkapkan Yang Mahatinggi.
