Indra–Namuci Expiation
पुष्टिद्युतिस्तथा कीर्ति: सिद्धिर्बद्धिरुमा तथा । त्वमेव वाणी स्वाहा त्वं तवायत्तमिदं जगत्
puṣṭi-dyutis tathā kīrtiḥ siddhir buddhir umā tathā | tvam eva vāṇī svāhā tvaṃ tavāyattam idaṃ jagat ||
Vasiṣṭha berkata: “Engkaulah pemeliharaan dan cahaya; engkaulah kemasyhuran; engkaulah keberhasilan dan kecerdasan; engkaulah pula Umā. Engkaulah Wicara, dan engkaulah Svāhā. Seluruh jagat ini bergantung padamu dan berada dalam kuasamu.”
वसिष्ठ उवाच
The verse teaches that all auspicious powers—prosperity, brilliance, fame, success, and intelligence—are ultimately rooted in and governed by the divine principle addressed here, emphasizing dependence of the world on a higher sustaining power and encouraging reverent humility.
Vasiṣṭha is offering a hymn of praise (stuti), identifying the addressed deity with multiple revered forms and functions—Umā, Speech, and the sacrificial invocation Svāhā—thereby asserting her all-pervading sovereignty over the cosmos.
