Adhyāya 6: Śibira-dvāra-sthita Bhūta-varṇana and Aśvatthāmā’s Śaraṇāgati to Mahādeva

न चैतदभिजानामि चिन्तयन्नपि सर्वथा । ध्रुवं येयमधर्मे मे प्रवृत्ता कलुषा मति:

na caitad abhijānāmi cintayann api sarvathā | dhruvaṁ yeyam adharme me pravṛttā kaluṣā matiḥ ||

Walau kupikirkan dengan segala cara, aku tetap tak dapat mengenali siapa ini. Sungguh, batinku yang ternoda—yang telah berpaling kepada adharma—telah mendatangkan akibat mengerikan ini sebagai buah yang telah ditetapkan.
