mamāpi mānaḥ paramaḥ sadā tvayi bravīmy atas tvāṁ paramāc ca sauhṛdāt | nivārayiṣyāmi ca karṇam apy ahaṁ yadā bhavān sapraṇayo bhaviṣyati |
Aku pun selalu menaruh hormat tertinggi kepadamu.

The verse highlights ethical persuasion grounded in honor and friendship: sincere respect and goodwill can be invoked to prevent violence, even to the extent of restraining a formidable warrior like Karṇa, if the other party consents with affectionate openness.
Sañjaya declares his high regard for the addressed person and, appealing to their close friendship, proposes a conciliatory course: if the other agrees willingly, Sañjaya will act to stop Karṇa from participating in the war.
