प्राज्लस्थ मूढस्य च जीवितान्ते नास्ति प्रमोक्षो5न्तकसत्कृतस्य । अतो विद्वन्नभियास्यामि पार्थान् दिष्टं न शक््यं व्यतिवर्तितुं वै
sañjaya uvāca |
prājlasta mūḍhasya ca jīvitānte nāsti pramokṣo ’ntakasatkṛtasya |
ato vidvann abhiyāsyāmi pārthān diṣṭaṃ na śakyaṃ vyativartituṃ vai ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Entah seseorang bijak atau tersesat, pada akhir hayat tak ada pelarian dari Antaka (Maut/Yama) yang menyambut tiap makhluk menurut bagiannya. Karena itu, wahai orang berilmu, aku sungguh akan maju melawan para Pārtha (putra-putra Kuntī). Benar, apa yang ditetapkan takdir tak dapat disimpangkan.”
