Educational Q&A

The line highlights an ethical ideal of steadfastness and respectful conduct: a person of undepressed spirit who consistently comes forward to honor and welcome another, suggesting loyalty, self-control, and proper social duty even amid crisis.

Sañjaya begins a description (or characterization) of someone’s behavior toward him—someone who regularly approaches to greet him—serving as a narrative setup for evaluating character and relationships within the tense wartime context of the Droṇa Parva.
