Educational Q&A

The line highlights how the pursuit of “certain victory” in war often rests on removing pivotal adversaries, raising a dharmic tension: strategic certainty can tempt leaders toward morally questionable choices, especially when victory is treated as the highest good.

Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra, expressing confidence that victory would be assured. In context, this confidence functions as battlefield assessment and political counsel, reflecting the Kaurava camp’s hopes and calculations during the Drona Parva.
