युध्यमानं तु संरम्भाद् भीमसेनं हसन्निव । अभ्यपद्यत कौन्तेयं कर्णो राजन् वृकोदरम्,राजन! क्रोधपूर्वक युद्ध करनेवाले कुन्तीपुत्र भीमसेनकी हँसी उड़ाता हुआ-सा कर्ण उनके सामने जा पहुँचा
yudhyamānaṃ tu saṃrambhād bhīmasenaṃ hasann iva | abhyapadyata kaunteyaṃ karṇo rājan vṛkodaram ||
Saat Bhīmasena bertempur dalam gelora amarah, Karṇa—seakan tertawa mengejek—maju lurus menghadapi putra Kuntī itu, Vṛkodara, wahai Raja.
