तद युद्धमासीत् सुमहद् घोरं देवासुरोपमम् | द्रोणस्प च महाराज भीमस्य च महात्मन:,महाराज! द्रोणाचार्य तथा महामनस्वी भीमसेनका वह महान युद्ध देवासुर-संग्रामके समान भयंकर था
tad yuddham āsīt sumahat ghoraṃ devāsuro'pamam | droṇasya ca mahārāja bhīmasya ca mahātmanaḥ ||
Sañjaya berkata: Wahai Raja, pertempuran itu amat besar dan mengerikan, laksana benturan para dewa dan asura. Pertemuan Droṇa dengan Bhīmasena yang berhati luhur tampak melampaui ukuran manusia.
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores the enormity and terror of war, using the deva–asura archetype to convey that such violence can exceed ordinary human categories; it implicitly highlights the ethical burden borne by warriors and rulers when conflict escalates beyond restraint.
Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the confrontation between Droṇa and the great-souled Bhīma became a massive, fearsome battle, likened to the mythic wars of gods and demons.
