अथाशु निशितं भल्लं शैनेय: कृतवर्मण: । प्रेषयामास समरे शरांश्व चतुरो5परान्,उन्होंने तुरंत ही कृतवर्मापर समरभूमिमें एक तीखे भल्लका प्रहार किया। फिर चार बाण और मारे
athāśu niśitaṃ bhallaṃ śaineyaḥ kṛtavarmaṇaḥ | preṣayāmāsa samare śarāṃś ca caturo 'parān ||
Kemudian Śaineya segera melepaskan sebuah bhalla yang tajam ke arah Kṛtavarmā di medan laga, dan seketika menyusulkannya dengan empat anak panah lagi.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the momentum of battle where warrior-duty (kṣātra-dharma) expresses itself through swift, decisive action; ethically, it underscores how conflict tends to escalate—one strike invites further strikes—testing restraint and discernment amid violence.
Sañjaya reports that Śaineya (Sātyaki) attacks Kṛtavarman: he first shoots a sharp bhalla arrow at him and then follows it with four additional arrows in rapid succession during the fight.
