Chapter 111
उदबबर्ह रथाच्चापि पन्नगं गरुडो यथा । क्रोधमें भरे हुए हिडिम्बाकुमारने अपने रथसे अलम्बुषके रथपर कूदकर उसे पकड़ लिया और जैसे गरुड़ सर्पको टाँग लेता है, उसी प्रकार उसने भी अलम्बुषको रथसे उठा लिया
udabbarha rathāccāpi pannagaṃ garuḍo yathā |
Sañjaya berkata: Diliputi amarah pertempuran, putra Hiḍimbā melompat dari keretanya ke kereta Alambuṣa, mencengkeramnya, lalu mengangkatnya—laksana Garuḍa menyambar ular dan membawanya terangkat dari tanah.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how anger (krodha) can rapidly escalate conflict into overpowering violence; it implicitly warns that unchecked wrath turns the battlefield into a realm where might overwhelms restraint, challenging the warrior’s ethical self-governance even amid dharma-yuddha ideals.
During the fighting, Hiḍimbā’s son (Ghaṭotkaca) leaps onto Alambuṣa’s chariot, grabs him, and hoists him up, compared to Garuḍa carrying off a serpent—an image of sudden, decisive capture and superiority.
