Educational Q&A

The verse affirms the dharmic principle that properly performed sacrifice and offerings (havis) are meant to satisfy both ancestors and deities; when done with right intent and rite, the unseen world is portrayed as responding with acceptance and blessing, reinforcing ethical kingship grounded in ritual responsibility.

A speaker addresses the king, declaring that he has come to meet him and that the king’s forefathers and other deities have also arrived, pleased; the speaker then pronounces a benediction that they will accept the king’s sacrificial oblations, validating the ongoing sacrificial context of the Ashvamedhika episode.
