Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)
ततो मां दर्शयामासु: स्वप्नान्ते पितरस्तथा । प्रीयमाणास्तु मामूचु: प्रीता: सम भरतर्षभ
tato māṁ darśayāmāsuḥ svapnānte pitaras tathā | prīyamāṇās tu mām ūcuḥ prītāḥ sam bharatarṣabha ||
Kemudian, pada akhir mimpi, para Pitṛ (leluhur) menampakkan diri dan memperlihatkan wujud mereka kepadaku. Dengan gembira mereka berkata, “Wahai yang terbaik di antara Bharata, kami telah puas.”
भीष्म उवाच
That proper conduct—especially duties connected with honoring the ancestors—bears fruit: the Pitṛs become pleased and communicate their satisfaction, symbolizing moral and ritual approval within the dharma framework.
Bhīṣma recounts a dream-vision in which the Pitṛs reveal themselves to him at the dream’s end and speak words of gratification, addressing the listener (Yudhiṣṭhira) as ‘Bharatarṣabha.’
