Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
य इच्छेत् सफलं जन्म जीवितं श्रुतमेव च । स पितुृंस्तर्पयेद् गाड्रमभिगम्य सुरांसतथा,जो अपने जन्म, जीवन और वेदाध्ययनको सफल बनाना चाहता हो वह गंगाजीके पास जाकर उनके जलसे देवताओं तथा पितरोंका तर्पण करे
ya icchet saphalaṁ janma jīvitaṁ śrutam eva ca | sa pitṝṁs tarpayet gāṅgram abhigamya surāṁs tathā ||
Barangsiapa ingin menjadikan kelahirannya, hidupnya, dan bahkan pelajaran sucinya berbuah, hendaklah ia mendatangi Gaṅgā dan dengan airnya mempersembahkan tarpaṇa kepada para dewa dan para leluhur.
