Brāhmaṇya-प्रश्नः — The Inquiry into Attaining Brāhmaṇya
Mataṅga–Gardabhī Itihāsa
The verse elevates Himavān as intrinsically sacred—renowned, pure, and a dwelling honored by perfected beings—suggesting that holiness is recognized through association with divine lineage (Śiva) and the presence of spiritually accomplished communities (Siddhas, Cāraṇas).
The speaker is describing Himavān in laudatory terms: identifying him as Śiva’s father-in-law and portraying the mountain as a famed, holy repository of jewels, visited and revered by celestial and perfected beings.
