अहिंसयित्वा ब्रह्महत्याविधानम् / Brahmahatyā incurred without physical violence
जो ब्राह्मण ऊपर बताये हुए गुणोंसे युक्त होते हैं, उन्हें दिया हुआ दान महान् फल देनेवाला है। गुणवान् एवं सुयोग्य पात्रको दान देनेवाला दाता सहसख्रगुना फल पाता है ।।
prajñāśrutābhyāṁ vṛttena śīlena ca samanvitaḥ | tārayet kulaṁ sarvam eko 'pīha dvijarṣabhaḥ ||
Bhishma berkata: Dana yang diberikan kepada seorang Brahmana yang memiliki kebajikan-kebajikan tersebut berbuah besar; dan pemberi yang berdana kepada wadah yang berbudi serta layak memperoleh hasil seribu kali lipat. Bahkan satu dwija-utama yang berbekal kecerdasan, pengetahuan dari śāstra, perilaku luhur, dan watak mulia—bila ia menerima dana di sini—mampu mengangkat seluruh garis keturunan sang pemberi.
