The verse teaches a devotional-theological vision: Krishna is the primeval creator and sustainer, identical with the cosmic source from whom earth and the ordered world arise. Recognizing this grounds dharma in reverence, humility, and alignment with the divine order.
Bhishma is praising and identifying Krishna’s supreme status, describing him as the creator of earth, sky, and heaven, and as the ancient Varāha incarnation who brought forth mountains and established the directions—an affirmation of Krishna’s cosmic sovereignty.
