भूगतान् हि विजेतारो वयमित्यब्रुवन् द्विजा: । ततः कर्म समारब्धं ब्राह्मणै:ः कपनाशनम्,तब ब्राह्मणोंने कहा--“हम उन दानवोंको पृथ्वीपर लाकर परास्त करेंगे।” तदनन्तर ब्राह्मणोंने कपविनाशक कर्म आरम्भ किया
bhūgatān hi vijetāro vayam ity abruvan dvijāḥ | tataḥ karma samārabdhaṃ brāhmaṇaiḥ kapanāśanam ||
Para brahmana berkata, “Kami akan menaklukkan mereka setelah mereka dijatuhkan ke bumi.” Sesudah itu, para brahmana memulai upacara yang ditujukan untuk membinasakan Kapa.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the idea that spiritual authority and ritual action can be mobilized to restrain destructive forces, framing such intervention as a dharma-oriented responsibility to protect the world and restore order.
Brahmins proclaim that they will defeat certain hostile beings once those are brought down to earth, and then they begin a specific rite described as ‘Kapa-destroying,’ indicating a planned, purposeful undertaking to neutralize a threat.
