न च राजभयं तेषां न पिशाचान्न राक्षसात् । नाग्न्यम्बुपवनव्यालाद् भयं तस्योपजायते,गायत्रीका जप करनेसे द्विजको राजा, पिशाच, राक्षस, आग, पानी, हवा और साँप आदिका भय नहीं होता
na ca rājabhayaṁ teṣāṁ na piśācān na rākṣasāt | nāgny-ambu-pavana-vyālād bhayaṁ tasyopajāyate ||
Bhishma berkata: Baginya tidak timbul rasa takut—baik kepada raja-raja, piśāca, maupun rākṣasa; demikian pula tidak timbul takut terhadap api, air, angin, atau ular. Demikianlah, melalui japa Gāyatrī yang dijalankan dengan disiplin, seorang dwija terlindungi dari bahaya duniawi dan yang tak kasatmata, serta diteguhkan dalam keteguhan dharma.
भीष्म उवाच
Regular Gāyatrī-recitation and disciplined spiritual practice cultivate inner steadiness and are praised as conferring protection—symbolically and ethically—against threats from rulers, hostile beings, and natural dangers.
In the Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma continues instructing Yudhiṣṭhira on dharma and religious duties; here he extols the power of sacred recitation (especially Gāyatrī-japa) as a safeguard for the dvija who follows it.
