Kīrtana for the Removal of Impurity
yajvānaś ca tathaivānye nihomāś ca tathāpare | kena karmavipākena bhavantīha vadasva me ||
Katakanlah kepadaku.
The verse frames a dharmic inquiry: differences in religious and ethical inclination—such as devotion to yajña and homa versus aversion to them—are to be understood through karma-vipāka, the maturation of past actions shaping present tendencies.
Śrīmaheśvara poses a question about human diversity in ritual disposition: why some are naturally inclined toward sacrificial duties while others neglect or oppose them, and he asks for an explanation in terms of the results of karma.
