Kīrtana for the Removal of Impurity
sarvavarṇapriyakaraḥ sarvabhūtahitaḥ sadā | advēṣī sumukhaḥ ślakṣṇaḥ snigdhavāṇīpradaḥ sadā, devi! |
The verse teaches that universal goodwill, absence of hatred, gentleness, and affectionate truthful speech are central marks of dharmic character; such conduct makes one worthy of respect and yields auspicious spiritual results.
In Anuśāsana Parva, Mahēśvara addresses Devī, listing virtues that define an exemplary person; the surrounding passage (as reflected in the provided Hindi) expands these traits into social duties like honoring elders, guests, teachers, and avoiding harm, and links them to heavenly reward and noble rebirth.
