Adhyāya 142: Cyavana, the Devas’ Arrogance, and Vāyu’s Counsel on Protecting Brāhmaṇas

तेषां प्रतिष्ठिता कीर्तियावत्‌ स्थास्यति मेदिनी । गृहस्थैर्दानतपसा यैलोंका वै विनिर्जिता:

teṣāṁ pratiṣṭhitā kīrtir yāvat sthāsyati medinī | gṛhasthair dāna-tapasā yaiḥ lokā vai vinirjitāḥ ||

Bhīṣma bersabda: Kemasyhuran para gṛhastha yang, melalui derma dan tapa, telah menaklukkan bagi diri mereka loka-loka yang luhur, akan tetap tegak di dunia ini selama bumi masih bertahan.
