Duḥṣantasya Vana-praveśaḥ
King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt
The verse highlights how renown and extraordinary status can follow righteous kingship and divine support, but such honor is meaningful only when matched by noble character (mahātman) and conduct worthy of celestial attendance.
Vaiśampāyana describes a king so exalted that Gandharvas and Apsarases attend upon him; because he lives and moves ‘above’ in an elevated, almost celestial manner, he becomes famous by the epithet “Rājopacara.”
