देवसत्रे मृत्युनिरोधः, पूर्वेन्द्राणां मानुषावतरणम्, द्रौपदी-वरकथनम्

अर्जुनेन प्रयुक्तांस्तान् बाणान् वेगवतस्तदा । प्रतिहत्य ननादोच्चै: सैन्यानि तदपूजयन्
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: Arjunena prayuktāṁs tān bāṇān vegavatas tadā pratihatya nanādoccaiḥ; sainyāni tad apūjayan.
Saat itu Karṇa menangkis dan mematahkan anak-anak panah cepat yang dilepaskan Arjuna, lalu mengaum nyaring laksana singa; seluruh pasukan pun memuji keperkasaan luar biasa itu.
