वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya endurance: even when overwhelmed by pain and disorientation, a warrior is portrayed as striving to maintain resolve and continue the chosen course of action. It also underscores the moral tension of battle—valor and persistence coexist with the destructive force of weapons.
Karna is struck hard by a rapid volley of sharp, powerful arrows. He begins to stagger and nearly faints, but he forces himself onward and continues pursuing Arjuna.
