Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)
Unchecked ambition and envy lead to adharma: Duryodhana’s resolve to seize power through coercion and harm to a virtuous kinsman illustrates how unethical means corrupt kingship and set the stage for wider ruin.
After deciding to rule alone by forcibly imprisoning his brothers, Duryodhana continually searches for a chance to injure Bhīma. The verse highlights his settled intent and ongoing vigilance for an opportunity to do harm.
