Adhyāya 123 — Droṇa’s Pedagogy: Arjuna’s Preeminence, Ekalavya’s Self-Training, and the Bhāsa-Lakṣya Trial
बभूव परमो हर्ष: शतशृड्शनिवासिनाम् | तथा देवनिकायानां सेन्द्राणां च दिवौकसाम्
babhūva paramo harṣaḥ śataśṛṅganivāsinām | tathā devanikāyānāṃ sendrāṇāṃ ca divaukasām |
Waiśampāyana berkata: Sukacita agung timbul di antara para resi pertapa yang berdiam di Śataśṛṅga; demikian pula di antara bala para dewa—bersama Indra—yang tinggal di surga. Mendengar sabda langit yang menakjubkan itu, mereka bersorak penuh kegembiraan, seakan tatanan dharma semesta sendiri diteguhkan kembali.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how a righteous, divinely sanctioned development brings joy not only to humans but also to sages and gods, suggesting that dharma resonates across the cosmic hierarchy and is affirmed through auspicious signs.
After a wondrous heavenly proclamation is heard, the ascetics living at Śataśṛṅga and the celestial hosts led by Indra experience great delight, indicating that the event being announced is momentous and favorable.
