Adhyāya 123 — Droṇa’s Pedagogy: Arjuna’s Preeminence, Ekalavya’s Self-Training, and the Bhāsa-Lakṣya Trial
तथा दिव्यानि चास्त्राणि निखिलेनाहरिष्यति । विप्रणष्टां श्रियं चायमाहर्ता पुरुषर्षभ:
tathā divyāni cāstrāṇi nikhilenāhariṣyati | vipraṇaṣṭāṃ śriyaṃ cāyam āhartā puruṣarṣabhaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Demikian pula, banteng di antara manusia ini akan memperoleh seluruh senjata ilahi dengan sempurna; dan ia pun akan merebut kembali kemakmuran yang telah lenyap—mengembalikan apa yang dirampas.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse emphasizes rightful restoration: a worthy hero gains the necessary power (divine weapons) and also reclaims lost prosperity, suggesting that strength is meant to re-establish legitimate order rather than for mere conquest.
Vaiśampāyana foretells that Arjuna will fully obtain celestial weapons and will also recover the prosperity that had been lost—anticipating his future empowerment and the eventual reversal of the Pāṇḍavas’ dispossession.
