Adhyāya 123 — Droṇa’s Pedagogy: Arjuna’s Preeminence, Ekalavya’s Self-Training, and the Bhāsa-Lakṣya Trial

इत्युक्त: कौरवो राजा वासवेन महात्मना

ity uktaḥ kauravo rājā vāsavena mahātmanā |

Setelah demikian disapa oleh Vāsava (Indra), raja Kaurava yang berhati luhur itu pun sangat bersukacita. Mengingat sabda raja para dewa, ia berkata kepada Kuntī: “Wahai yang membawa berkah, hasil kelak dari tapa-vratamu akan sungguh mujur. Indra, penguasa para dewa, berkenan kepada kita dan hendak menganugerahkan kepadamu—sesuai tekadmu—seorang putra utama: pelaku karya adimanusia, termasyhur, penakluk musuh, arif dalam tata negara, berjiwa agung, bercahaya laksana matahari, tak tertandingi, giat dalam laku, dan menakjubkan dipandang.”
