भीष्मो बुद्धिमदान्महाां कुलस्यास्य विवृद्धये । साच बुद्धिस्त्वय्यधीना पुत्रि प्रापपय मां तथा
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: bhīṣmo buddhimān mahān kulasyāsya vivṛddhaye | sā ca buddhis tvayy adhīnā putri prāpaya māṃ tathā ||
Bhīṣma, yang bijaksana dan berhati agung, telah mengusulkan suatu rencana demi pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan wangsa ini. Namun, putriku, keberhasilan nasihat itu berada di tanganmu; maka bawalah aku pada keadaan itu, sebagaimana ditunjukkan Bhīṣma.
