देवैर्विष्णोः शरणागमनम्—शिवलिङ्गस्थापनं, शिवसहस्रनामस्तवः, सुदर्शनचक्रप्रदानं च
ज्ञात्वा स्वनेत्रमुद्धृत्य सर्वसत्त्वावलम्बनम् पूजयामास भावेन नाम्ना तेन जगद्गुरुम्
jñātvā svanetramuddhṛtya sarvasattvāvalambanam pūjayāmāsa bhāvena nāmnā tena jagadgurum
Setelah mengetahui hakikat-Nya, ia mengangkat (mencabut) matanya sendiri sebagai persembahan, lalu memuja Sang Guru Jagat, Siwa—penopang semua makhluk—dengan bhava-bhakti, memanggil-Nya dengan nama itu juga.

Śiva is portrayed as Jagadguru and the sustaining refuge of all beings—Pati who upholds and guides all pashus, transcending individual limitation while remaining the ground of their existence.
