Pāśupata-vrata Māhātmya: Dvādaśa-Liṅga Mahāvrata, Month-wise Dravya, and Pūjā-krama

आश्विने चैव विप्रेन्द्राः गोमेदकमयं शुभम् प्रवालेनैव कार्तिक्यां तथा वै मार्गशीर्षके

āśvine caiva viprendrāḥ gomedakamayaṃ śubham pravālenaiva kārtikyāṃ tathā vai mārgaśīrṣake

Wahai para brahmana utama, pada bulan Āśvina persembahkanlah dana yang suci dari gomeda (hessonite). Pada Kārttika persembahkan pula pravāla (karang merah), dan demikian juga pada Mārgaśīrṣa menurut tata bulanan—agar paśu (jiwa terikat) memperoleh pahala penopang bhakti kepada Śiva dan belenggu (pāśa) melonggar oleh anugerah Pati (Śiva).
