FAQs

By insisting on unwavering guru-sevā “until release from the body,” it implies that realization is not merely intellectual but ripens through sustained discipline that culminates in liberation beyond bodily identity.

The verse highlights karma-yoga and bhakti-oriented discipline: being “yuktaḥ” (steadfast/yoked) and practicing continuous service to the Guru as a regulated sādhanā that supports inner purification and yogic stability.

Indirectly, it reflects the Kurma Purana’s synthesis: liberation-oriented yoga is taught through a guru-centered path compatible with both Shaiva (Pāśupata discipline) and Vaishnava (devotional service) frameworks, emphasizing one goal—mokṣa.
