FAQs

This verse signals a doctrinal teaching that speech has three modes and should be understood correctly, because disciplined speech supports mantra, learning, and dharmic conduct.

Vishnu addresses Garuda directly (“best of birds”) and transitions the topic from defining speech’s threefold nature to explaining Bhāratī’s manifestations, asking for attentive listening.

Practice mindful, truthful, and purposeful speech—especially in prayer, study, and daily interactions—treating words as a sacred discipline rather than impulsive expression.
