Secondary Creation Begins: Brahmā’s Productions, the Guṇas, and the Emergence of Orders of Beings
so ’śayiṣṭābdhi-salile āṇḍakośo nirātmakaḥ sāgraṁ vai varṣa-sāhasram anvavātsīt tam īśvaraḥ
From this verse it appears that all the universes are floating in the Causal Ocean.
This verse says the Supreme Lord lay within the universal egg on the ocean waters, remaining in an unmanifest state for a little more than a thousand years until creation began to proceed.
The verse indicates that prior to the unfolding of creation, differentiated cosmic activity is not yet expressed; the Lord remains present as the controller, while manifestation awaits its appointed time.
It teaches patience and trust in divine timing: meaningful action arises when conditions mature, and inner stillness can be a sacred preparation before outward creation or work.
