Ikṣvāku Dynasty: Vikukṣi’s Offense, Purañjaya’s Victory, Māndhātā’s Birth, and Saubhari’s Fall and Renunciation
तासां कलिरभूद् भूयांस्तदर्थेऽपोह्य सौहृदम् । ममानुरूपो नायं व इति तद्गतचेतसाम् ॥ ४४ ॥
tāsāṁ kalir abhūd bhūyāṁs tad-arthe ’pohya sauhṛdam mamānurūpo nāyaṁ va iti tad-gata-cetasām
Sesudah itu, para putri yang terpikat kepada Saubhari Muni meninggalkan kasih sayang sebagai saudari dan bertengkar hebat. Masing-masing bersikeras, “Pria ini cocok untukku, bukan untukmu.” Demikianlah timbul perselisihan besar.
This verse states that when discord increases, people abandon goodwill and begin judging others as “not suitable for me,” causing affection to collapse.
He highlights how the mind, once overtaken by conflict, rationalizes separation by focusing on incompatibility rather than preserving goodwill and dharmic harmony.
