The Yadu–Vṛṣṇi–Andhaka Genealogies and the Purpose of Kṛṣṇa’s Advent
तदैवोपागतं देवं वीक्ष्य विस्मितमानसा । प्रत्ययार्थं प्रयुक्ता मे याहि देव क्षमस्व मे ॥ ३३ ॥
tadaivopāgataṁ devaṁ vīkṣya vismita-mānasā pratyayārthaṁ prayuktā me yāhi deva kṣamasva me
Begitu Kuntī memanggil dewa matahari, ia segera menampakkan diri di hadapannya, dan Kuntī pun sangat terperanjat. Ia berkata, “Aku hanya menguji kemanjuran siddhi ini. Wahai dewa, maafkan aku karena memanggilmu tanpa perlu; silakan kembali.”
This verse shows a devotee’s humility—after realizing the Lord’s presence, she admits her words were meant only to confirm the truth and sincerely asks the Lord to forgive her.
Overwhelmed and repentant, she acknowledges she tested Him for certainty (pratyaya) and then, feeling unworthy or embarrassed, requests Him to depart while begging forgiveness.
When you realize you have doubted, spoken harshly, or tested someone unfairly, admit it honestly, apologize quickly, and act with reverence and restraint going forward.
