Prelude to Hari–Śaṅkara Conflict
सा च तं सुन्दरवरं विलोक्य मुदितानना । दुष्प्रेक्ष्ये स्वगृहे पुम्भी रेमे प्राद्युम्निना समम् ॥ २२ ॥
sā ca taṁ sundara-varaṁ vilokya muditānanā duṣprekṣye sva-gṛhe pumbhī reme prādyumninā samam
Melihat Dia, pria terindah, wajah Ūṣā berseri karena sukacita. Ia membawa putra Pradyumna itu ke kamar pribadinya—yang bahkan tak boleh dipandang para lelaki—dan di sana ia bersenang-senang bersama-Nya.
This verse describes Rukmiṇī’s joyful attraction to Pradyumna and their mutual conjugal happiness, emphasizing his exceptional beauty and her exclusive devotion within the palace setting.
It indicates her protected, chaste royal status—unapproachable to other men—while highlighting that her intimacy was rightly shared only with her husband, Pradyumna.
It underscores fidelity, dignity, and sanctity in relationships—joy is deepest when love is aligned with dharma and exclusive commitment.
