Vīrabhadra Destroys Dakṣa’s Sacrifice
Dakṣa-yajña-vināśa
In this verse, Shiva rises with a deep roar and throws a blazing lock of his matted hair to the earth—an act that initiates the fearsome response that will devastate Daksha’s sacrifice.
Shiva’s intense reaction follows the grievous offense connected to Daksha’s sacrifice and the dishonor done to Sati and Shiva, setting the stage for divine justice in the yajna arena.
It warns that unchecked offense and disrespect toward the sacred can trigger severe consequences, and it reminds seekers to cultivate humility, restraint, and reverence in spiritual dealings.
