Aditi’s Lament and Kaśyapa’s Instruction of the Payo-vrata (Milk Vow) to Please Keśava
Aditi laments that she has been exiled and overwhelmed by suffering, as the powerful have taken her wealth, honor, and rightful status—prompting her to seek the Lord’s shelter.
In the context of the Deva–Asura struggle, the demigods’ side is defeated and displaced; Aditi, as their mother, expresses their collective loss and desperation while approaching the Supreme Lord for help.
When status, security, or reputation is taken away, the Bhagavatam models turning from despair to sincere prayer and surrender—seeking divine guidance rather than bitterness.
