कामो॑ जज्ञे प्रथ॒मो नैनं॑ दे॒वा आ॑पुः पि॒तरो॒ न मर्त्याः॑ । तत॒स्त्वम॑सि॒ ज्याया॑न् वि॒श्वहा॑ म॒हांस्तस्मै॑ ते काम॒ नम॒ इत् कृ॑णोमि

IAST Transliteration

kā́mo jajñe prathamó náinaṁ devā́ ā́puḥ pitáro ná mártyāḥ | tátas tvám asi jyā́yān viśváhā mahā́ṁs tásmai te kā́ma náma íd kṛṇomi

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Kāma was born the first: him neither Gods attained, nor Fathers, nor mortals. Therefore art thou ever greater, mighty: to thee, O Kāma, to him—homage, even so, I render.

Translation

Kāma lahir pertama; dia tidak dicapai oleh para Dewa, tidak oleh para Pitara (leluhur), tidak pula oleh manusia fana. Karena itu engkau senantiasa lebih agung, perkasa. Kepadamu, wahai Kāma—kepadanya—aku persembahkan hormat (namas) ini.
